The visit will include:

Tour of the lab – overview of the different printers we use and the types of products they produce.

Why screen doesn’t look like print (sometimes) – what causes it and how to fix it.

What an ICC profile is – understanding device colour output and how soft-proofing previews your print on screen

A colour-managed workflow – calibrated monitor, daylight lighting, and consistent viewing conditions.

Colour spaces explained – sRGB vs Adobe1998 vs ProPhotoRGB. What they mean and when to use them.

Out-of-gamut colours – how to spot them and avoid dull or unexpected results (hopefully live soft-proof demo with print samples).

File types for printing – TIFF vs JPEG, when each makes sense.

Real-world workflows – examples for landscape/fine-art vs school/event shooters vs portrait/wedding photographers.

Paper types and why to choose them – how and why to choose one paper type or print method over another.

Q&A

Meet-up afterwards at Superthing Cafe, 215 Montague Road, West End at 10.15am.
