A special photo guidance session and opportunities to practice with an experienced guide is being held on Wednesday, 29th April at Mt Coot-tha botanical gardens.

Members only

This event will be led by Monette Gardiner, and the program will include:

• an introduction into understanding the benefits and features of your mobile phone camera
• learn how to maximise your imagery and confidence with the camera you have with you 90% of the time
• practical guidance on phone camera settings and how to get the best results
• a photo walk to put your new knowledge into practice

Meet at 8.30am for an 8.45am presentation at The Gardens Cafe at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens. Cafe opens at 8.30 so coffee will be available. We can meet again after practice to share ideas and get feedback.

Monette will provide a presentation and guidance and then let us loose to practice. The area is great for all types of photography.

Join us for a relaxed day by the seaside at Brighton

Location    Decker Park, Brighton

Come along for another great club social day at Decker Park in Brighton — right beside the seaside! It’s a wonderful spot with a good-sized shaded area, BBQ facilities, and water and toilets all close by. With any luck, there may even be kite boarders putting on a show if the breeze is up.

The club will be providing a sausage sizzle. Members with special dietary requirements are welcome to bring their own food.

• Bring a folding chair for comfort — seating is on the grass under the trees
• Sunscreen and a hat are always a good idea for a day outdoors
• Cameras  — it’s a great spot for a casual shoot!

Getting there

The park is located at the end of 25th Avenue, Brighton. Heading towards Redcliffe, turn right at the traffic lights just before the Hornibrook Bridge, then take the first left into 25th Avenue. Follow the avenue to the end — there is a good-sized car park on the left.
